SOS Feeding Therapy & Healthy Relationship Support
We’re a part of the team. There’s no better experience than feeling seen, heard, appreciated, and understood. Understanding that the familial relationship is important for life, and feeding is the only skill that requires a total sensory processing experience for the rest of our lives. We want to offer you our fullest support across multiple spheres in your child and family’s life.
Feeding therapy focuses on developing key foundational skills needed for successful eating, especially when developmental milestones are missing or underdeveloped. Our approach helps children strengthen oral motor, sensory, and experiential skills essential for enjoyable and nutritious mealtimes. The SOS Approach, developed by Dr. Toomey and Associates, supports individuals in nourishing their bodies through a whole-person approach. "SOS" stands for Sequential-Oral-Sensory, and it follows the body’s sensorimotor framework to build a functional eating foundation. It engages all eight sensory systems—auditory, gustatory, tactile, olfactory, visual, proprioception, vestibular, and interoception—to help the body process and regulate sensory information effectively. Understanding that neurodivergent individuals often face sensorimotor dysregulation due to unreliable neurotransmitter processing, SOS works to improve sensory integration, supporting functional eating.
Healthy Relationship Support includes individualized parent coaching, equipping you with the teaching methods and strategies to teach your child about healthy relationships and social-emotional growth. Our services help parents navigate a wide range of topics, enabling them to confidently guide their children in building respectful, informed, and empowering relationships. Our coaching approach focuses on fostering open communication, emotional intelligence, and a strong sense of personal safety, helping parents feel confident in guiding their children toward respectful and healthy relationships.
