Services for Professionals and Educators
-
Initial Consultation:
We work with educators, administrators, and support staff to gather background information on the student's behavior and academic history.
We conduct interviews with key stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and specialists, to identify concerns and behaviors that require assessment.
Data Collection:
We gather both qualitative and quantitative data through a combination of direct observations, behavioral checklists, and functional assessments.
This includes understanding the context of the behavior, antecedents, and consequences to determine the function of the behavior.
Behavioral Analysis:
Our specialists analyze the data to identify patterns and triggers of the behavior, establishing whether the behavior is a response to and maintained by specific needs such as attention, escape, sensory input, or other factors.
A detailed report is provided, outlining the results of the assessment, including hypothesized functions of the behavior.
Recommendations & Intervention Planning:
Based on the findings, we provide specific recommendations for interventions, including individualized and environmental strategies and supports.
We collaborate with school staff to develop a behavior support plan (BSP or BIP) that aligns with the student's needs, academic goals, and the district’s resources.
We join IEP, IHP, and 504 plan meetings to detail the findings and plan recommendations as well as upon request as a specialist consultation.
Staff Training and Support:
We offer training sessions for teachers and staff on how to implement the behavior intervention plan and effectively address challenging behaviors.
Ongoing support and monitoring are available via independent contract to ensure the interventions are successful and adjustments are made as needed.
Progress Monitoring & Follow-Up:
We assist in tracking the student's progress over time and provide periodic follow-up assessments to determine the effectiveness of the interventions.
Adjustments are made to the behavior plan as necessary, based on data and evolving needs.
