The developmental road map is unique to all, but here are some notes on resources that can help guide you for what may come.

  • → Early Intervention Services (Can be private or public like eligibility determination for Early Start services)

    → Regional Center San Diego

    → Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) referral

    → At 2.5 years: IFSP meeting for transitioning to IEP initiation

    → Medical diagnosis

    → Medical eligibility - private insurance provider? Tri-care?

    → Family Resource Center(s)

  • → At 3yo Educational assistance begins

    → 504 Plan

    → IEP initiated/ implemented

    → Assessments and evaluations: educational

    → Continue Early Intervention Services until Kindergarten

    → Regional Center Services:

    → Speech Language Therapies by SLP, Occupational Therapy by OT, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) may end

    → Respite Care

    → Medical Services

    → Private Insurance therapies

  • → Transition and/or placement determination

    → 5 or 6-year-old start

    → Triennial Assessment: every 3 years at minimum

    → IEP

    → 504 Plan

    → Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

    → Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)

    → Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS)
